Nonlocal approaches for multilane traffic models

چکیده
We present a multilane traffic model based on balance laws, where the nonlocal source term is used to describe lane changing rate. The modelling framework includes consideration of local and flux functions. Based Godunov type numerical scheme, we provide BV estimates discrete entropy inequality. Together with $L^1$-contractivity property, prove existence uniqueness weak solutions. Numerical examples show impact compared functions sources.

متن کاملA Hierarchy of Models for Multilane Vehicular Traffic I: Modeling
In the present paper multilane models for vehicular traac are considered. A microscopic multilane model based on reaction thresholds is developed. Based on this model an Enskog like kinetic model is developed. In particular, care is taken to incorporate the correlations between the vehicles. From the kinetic model a uid dynamic model is derived. The macroscopic coeecients are deduced from the u...
متن کاملMacroscopic dynamics of multilane traffic.
We present a macroscopic model of mixed multilane freeway traffic that can be easily calibrated to empirical traffic data, as is shown for Dutch highway data. The model is derived from a gas-kinetic level of description, including effects of vehicular space requirements and velocity correlations between successive vehicles. We also give a derivation of the lane-changing rates. The resulting dyn...

In this paper the work presented in 4] is continued. The present paper contains detailed numerical investigations of the models developed there. A numerical method to treat the kinetic equations obtained in 4] is presented. Space homogeneous and inhomogeneous situations are considered.
متن کاملMultilane Traffic Density Estimation and Tracking
As the number of vehicles in roads increases, information of traffic density becomes crucial to municipalities for making better decisions about road management and to the environment for reduced carbon emission. Here, the problem of traffic density estimation is addressed when there is continuous influx of vehicle data. First the traffic density is modeled by the clusters of the speed groups t...
